Becoming A patient at
Mid-Maine Oral Surgery – Waterville ME
Scheduling an Appointment:
At Mid-Maine Oral Surgery, we offer both consultation and same day surgery appointments. We also offer a variety of sedation options for procedures performed at our practice. To best determine what the right appointment type will be for your needs, give our office a call to discuss with our knowledgeable staff. If you would prefer that we call you, please complete our online form to request this.
When calling to schedule an appointment, please have your medical and dental insurance information, medication list and referral slip handy. Our staff will need to be informed of any medical conditions you may have at the time of scheduling. This will provide us with the information we need to schedule you safely and appropriately as well as provide you with accurate financial expectations.
Once scheduled, if your referring dentist has not already provided us with a referral slip and any current imaging (x-rays, photos), please let them know you are scheduled with us so they can get that information to us. If you need assistance with navigating this, please let our staff know and we will be happy to help.
Preparing for your Appointment:
All patients need to complete our registration form online at least 48 business hours prior to being seen for their appointment. If you are unable to complete this form online, please call our office to make a plan for its completion.
Our office communicates with patients through a combination of phone calls and text messages. Depending on the specifics of your appointment, we may need to speak with you regarding estimates, special instructions and/or missing information from your chart.
** For sedation procedures, you must review the instructions for your sedation by phone with our staff at least 48 business hours prior to your appointment in order to keep your procedure on our books. We will make every attempt to reach out to you via text and/or phone to ensure this happens. However, it is the patient’s responsibility to call us back during standard business hours to review these instructions.
Our insurance coordinator requires complete insurance information 2 weeks prior to your appointment in order to provide you with an insurance-based estimate for the day of your procedure.
All appointments need to be confirmed with our office 48 business hours prior to appointment time in order to remain on our schedule.
Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, our office requires 48 business hour notice. Any shorter notice may incur a fee.
Day of Your Appointment:
Dr. L’Heureux and his staff are looking forward to meeting and treating you. We require that you arrive for your appointment at least 10 minutes in advance in order for us to check you in. Please bring copies of your insurance cards, either hard copies or an electronic copy that you can send to us, a reliable form of payment and any updates regarding medical conditions/medications since completing your patient registration.
Please make sure you have followed any special instructions for your procedure. If the instructions have not been followed, we may not be able to move forward with your procedure safely and will ask you to come back at another time.
** Sedation patients MUST have an adult driver who will remain present with their vehicle during the entire duration of their time with us.
** All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting time. However, surgical procedures can sometimes be unpredictable, and various circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for a procedure. Emergency cases may also arise and cause delays. Please be assured that we will give every patient’s appointment our full attention. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
X-Rays
High-quality x-rays are key to the success of your surgery. If your dentist or physician has already taken x-rays, we will do our best to use them. In some cases, Dr. L’Heureux will need additional imaging. This is at his discretion and is done to ensure a high quality of care in order to treat you properly. If you would like to have any of the images taken here in our office forwarded to you or your referring dentist, please let our staff know and we will be very happy to make that happen.
